LA County Library’s Free Lunch at the Library Program Returns June 16

Nutritious Meals for Kids & Teens at 20 Libraries in Partnership with LA County Department of Parks and Recreation

Los Angeles County, CA – LA County Library is once again partnering with LA County Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks) to offer its Lunch at the Library program, providing free, healthy meals to youth ages 18 and under this summer. From June 16 to August 8, 2025, participating library locations will offer lunches Monday through Friday from noon to 1 pm, depending on the site schedule.

No registration is required, and there are no income restrictions. Meals are available on a first come, first served basis and must be eaten at the Library.

“This program continues to be a vital service for families in our communities,” said Skye Patrick, County Librarian at LA County Library. “We’re proud to once again provide a safe, welcoming space where children and teens can access nutritious meals, discover books, and stay engaged during the summer months.”

“No family should have to worry about where their next meal will come from, especially when school is out,” said Norma E. García-González, LA County Parks Director. “By collaborating with LA County Library to offer free lunches to the youth at 20 library locations, we’re making healthy food accessible and reinforcing that libraries and parks are hubs of support for our communities. We’re proud to help remove barriers so that every child can thrive, learn, and enjoy a safe space this summer.”
