Solis Issues Statement Following the County’s Finalized Contract with SEIU 721
LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – Today, the County of Los Angeles announced a finalized contract with SEIU 721, after continued negotiation efforts.
Following this announcement, Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem and Supervisor Hilda L. Solis issued the following statement:
“I am very pleased that the County has settled labor negotiations with our largest union, SEIU 721. Despite intense negotiations and an especially challenging fiscal environment, the County and SEIU 721 have finalized an agreement for the next three years. The agreement reflects our shared values and provides increased healthcare allowance, and a total of $7,000 in one-time bonus and 7% cost of living adjustment.
As I’ve said before and will continue to say, our workers are the backbone of Los Angeles County. Time and time again, through the COVID-19 pandemic, the recent wildfires, and even now as our communities are reeling from the federal immigration raids, County workers have shown up for our residents.
This moment is reflective of the unity that defines public service in Los Angeles County. Together, we will ensure essential services continue for our most vulnerable residents.”
