Islamic Scholarship Fund Launches Two New Journalism Fellowships for Aspiring Muslim Storytellers

June 20, 2025 — The Islamic Scholarship Fund (ISF) has announced the launch of two exciting media fellowship programs designed to empower aspiring Muslim journalists and elevate authentic narratives about Muslim communities in the U.S.

The 2025 ISF-RNS Islam Reporting Fellowship, in partnership with Religion News Service (RNS), offers a full-time paid internship with professional coaching and editorial support. Fellows will focus on reporting stories centered around American Muslim communities. This unique opportunity provides early-career journalists with a national platform to produce meaningful, impactful journalism.

In addition, the 2025 ISF Journalism Fellowship supports emerging Muslim journalists currently enrolled in in-person internships. This program includes:

  • Up to $10,000 in professional development funding

  • A $5,000 travel stipend for conferences and industry events

  • Personalized mentorship and skills training

Applicants must commit to an in-person internship of at least eight weeks.
