Assembly District 49 Honors Woman of the Year on the Assembly Floor in Celebration of Women’s History Month

Sacramento, CA – On Monday, March 16, Assemblymember Mike Fong proudly honored Cindy Kuo as the Assembly District 49 Woman of the Year on the Assembly Floor in Recognition of Women’s History Month.

Cindy Kuo is the founder of the MP Prajna Buddhist Mission, through which she has devoted decades to humanitarian service. Her work has focused on uplifting families in Southeast Asia, where she has raised funds to build schools and provide food to communities facing poverty. Her commitment to relieving suffering also extends close to home. She was a top contributor to the LA Regional Food Bank, reflecting her enduring dedication to serving those in need locally and internationally.

“As an extraordinary leader and community pillar, Cindy Kuo has devoted her time and resources to creating a profound global and local impact,” said Assemblymember Fong.  “Her enduring dedication to humanitarian service proves that true leadership is rooted in compassion. Mrs. Kuo’s commitment to service reflects that legacy, and I am honored to recognize her as Assembly District 49’s Woman of the Year.”

Cindy Kuo joins women from across California for their extraordinary service. Assemblymember Fong is proud to celebrate her contributions and positive impact throughout the San Gabriel Valley.

The California State Assembly’s annual Woman of the Year celebration, hosted by the California Legislative Women’s Caucus, recognizes outstanding women from across the state who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through leadership, service, and advocacy. Each year, Assemblymembers select a Woman of the Year from their district to be recognized during a special ceremony on the Assembly Floor at the State Capitol.
