Disneyland Resort Kicks Off 2026 Halloween Season with New Food, Drinks and Exclusive Merchandise
LAPost/Anaheim, CA (August 21, 2026) — The Disneyland Resort officially kicked off its 2026 Halloween season Friday with “Fall Favorites Opening Day,” introducing an extensive lineup of seasonal food, beverages and merchandise across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
During the media event at the Hyperion Theater Courtyard in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Resort spokespersons highlighted a number of new and returning offerings for Halloween Time, as well as merchandise collections inspired by classic Disney Halloween characters, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Haunted Mansion Holiday and the pumpkin-themed season.
New Halloween Treats: From Churro Hand Tart to “Monster” Grilled Cheese
Disneyland spokesperson Elizabeth Ramos told LAPost that this year’s Halloween Time includes “a lot of new and returning offerings,” ranging from sweet treats and food to seasonal beverages.
Among the brand-new desserts is the Churro Hand Tart, a handheld pastry filled with spice cake and topped with cinnamon sugar.
“It’s kind of like a churro that you can walk around with and hold in your hand,” Ramos said.
The resort’s Halloween menu also features the Barbecue Pork Belly Monster Grilled Cheese, which combines barbecue pork belly, mustard cheese and sourdough with crispy fried onions and olives.
Ramos said what makes the item particularly fun is its monster-inspired presentation.
“It has monster cheese, and it looks like a monster,” she said. “If you see it, it’s looking at you.”
For guests who enjoy spicy food, Ramos recommended the Villainous Wings, which she described as one of the more “villainous” offerings of the season.
The wings are tossed in a sweet-and-tangy gochujang sauce and finished with a ghost pepper ranch drizzle, giving the dish a double dose of heat.
“So you get a double kick of spicy,” Ramos said. “If you’re into spicy things, definitely give that one a try.”
For coffee lovers, another seasonal highlight is the French Toast Cold Brew. The drink combines vanilla and cinnamon flavors with Joffrey’s cold brew, topped with cinnamon cream and cinnamon cereal.
Haunted Mansion Holiday Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary
Halloween merchandise is another major part of this year’s fall lineup, with many of the most prominent products centered around Haunted Mansion Holiday and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Disneyland spokesperson Miley Flander said the new merchandise collection focuses heavily on specific characters and iconic elements from the attraction and film, including Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Zero, Hatbox Ghost and Madame Leota.
This year is particularly significant because Haunted Mansion Holiday is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Flander said the collection was designed to give fans opportunities to celebrate their favorite characters while also recognizing the history of the attraction.
One of her favorite pieces is the new Oogie Boogie Hoodie.
The hoodie features Oogie Boogie’s signature color, a “Let’s Boogie” design, his classic dice and burlap-inspired details suggesting bugs bursting out from the character. The hood itself further reinforces the Oogie Boogie design.
Flander said fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas often have strong connections to individual characters.
“Some people love Oogie Boogie, some love Jack, Sally or Zero,” she said, explaining that the new collection gives fans a chance to celebrate those favorites.
Hatbox Ghost Comes to Life on a New Crossbody Bag
Another standout item is a new Hatbox Ghost crossbody bag, inspired by one of the most recognizable characters inside the Haunted Mansion.
The bag features a lenticular design, creating the illusion that Hatbox Ghost’s head moves as the bag is viewed from different angles.
Flander demonstrated how the character appears to shift back and forth as the bag is turned.
The design also includes adjustable straps and Haunted Mansion-inspired details, including the familiar “Welcome, Foolish Mortals” phrase.
A T-Shirt That Chronicles 25 Years of Haunted Mansion Holiday
For Disney fans who appreciate the history behind the attraction, one of the most distinctive pieces in this year’s collection is a new Haunted Mansion Holiday 25th Anniversary shirt.
The acid-washed shirt features Jack and Sally holding a gingerbread cookie, while the back showcases images of the different gingerbread houses created for Haunted Mansion Holiday over the years.
Flander said the design includes the gingerbread houses dating back to 2001, allowing fans to look back at the different designs created throughout the attraction’s history.
“This is really special for Disney fans that love our history,” she said.
The collection also includes a new letterman-style jacket featuring Haunted Mansion Holiday artwork, the 25th anniversary logo, the attraction’s iconic characters, the Man-Eating Wreath and Zero.
The jacket combines screen printing, embroidery and layered fabric elements.
Disney is also introducing a new Spirit Jersey for the anniversary. The washed-red design features Haunted Mansion Holiday and the 25th anniversary logo on the front, while the back showcases Jack, Sally, Zero and Scary Teddy.
Flander said the resort uses anniversary merchandise to highlight important milestones that fans may otherwise overlook.
“We always try to make sure that we create new merchandise that highlights these really big moments,” she said.
Pumpkin Merchandise and Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit
Disneyland Resort spokesperson Corey introduced another major part of the Halloween merchandise lineup: the resort’s extensive pumpkin collection.
The collection includes Spirit Jerseys, sweatshirts, shirts, ears, handbags and crossbody bags, with pumpkin designs and Halloween characters such as Vampire Mickey.
Among the interactive offerings is Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit, a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt that combines merchandise with an activity for visitors.
Guests purchase a map and then search for specially designed pumpkins located throughout the resort. Once they find each pumpkin, they collect the corresponding sticker and place it on the map.
After completing the hunt, guests can return the map to the designated location and receive a special blind bag.
Because it is a blind-box-style reward, guests do not know which character they will receive until they open it. Characters include Pluto and Goofy, among others.
A special pin is also available for guests who want to commemorate the pumpkin hunt.
Corey also highlighted the resort’s seasonal clothing collection, including a lightweight jersey designed to be comfortable during Southern California’s fall evenings.
“It’s nice and thin, not overly hot, but enough to keep you warm at night when it does cool down as the sun sets,” Corey said.
Plaza de la Familia Brings Coco and Día de los Muertos to Disney California Adventure
Halloween season at the Disneyland Resort also includes a celebration that goes beyond traditional Halloween imagery.
At Disney California Adventure, Plaza de la Familia returns with food, merchandise and entertainment inspired by the Día de los Muertos tradition and Disney and Pixar’s Coco.
Disneyland Resort spokesperson Oscar introduced this year’s offerings, including seasonal clothing, merchandise and food.
Among the featured dishes are the Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta and Gelatina de Nuez, adding Mexican-inspired flavors to the fall food lineup.
Plaza de la Familia celebrates family, remembrance and the traditions associated with Día de los Muertos, bringing together food, music, entertainment and characters inspired by Coco.
A Halloween Season Designed Around Food, Shopping and Collecting
From the Churro Hand Tart and Monster Grilled Cheese to Villainous Wings and French Toast Cold Brew, this year’s Halloween offerings at the Disneyland Resort extend well beyond traditional holiday sweets.
The merchandise lineup similarly combines seasonal fun with Disney nostalgia, featuring Oogie Boogie, Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero, Hatbox Ghost, pumpkins and Vampire Mickey.
The 25th anniversary of Haunted Mansion Holiday adds another layer of significance, with merchandise that not only celebrates the attraction but also documents its history through designs such as the collection of gingerbread houses dating back to 2001.
For visitors, Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort has increasingly become a full seasonal experience — something to eat, wear, collect, play and remember.
With Halloween Time officially underway, the resort is offering guests a wide range of ways to experience the 2026 fall season, from limited-time food and drinks to collectible merchandise and interactive activities.
