SUPERVISOR HORVATH’S STATEMENT ON YESTERDAY’S CONTINUUM OF CARE BOARD MEETING
LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath shares the following statement regarding yesterday’s continued Continuum of Care Board meeting:
“Los Angeles County is ready to lead the Continuum of Care and unite our region’s response to homelessness. The City of Los Angeles, our 87 other cities, and more than 100 unincorporated communities must have a voice in shaping that response. Cities also deserve a say in who is housed in the housing they build. That must be part of the process.
Los Angeles County is prepared to partner with every city in the County, listen to their concerns, and work toward solutions that address them. We have already committed to the City of LA that, at a minimum, they will maintain the HMIS and CES access they currently have working with LAHSA, and we will continue working with all communities to improve the effectiveness of all functions in the Continuum of Care.
Failing to hold yesterday’s meeting is unacceptable and erodes public trust. This meeting must be rescheduled immediately. People experiencing homelessness cannot afford more delays in getting the housing and services they deserve.”
