CALIFORNIA HEALTH+ADVOCATES ENDORSES MIKE ENG FOR STATE SENATE

EL MONTE, CA — The CaliforniaHealth+Advocates, representing California’s 1,300 community health centers (CHCs), announced their endorsement of Democrat Mike Eng for the open 22nd State Senate District.

CaliforniaHealth+Advocates and the community health care clinics they represent provide high-quality, comprehensive care to 6.5 million people in California each year and contribute to the employment of more than 58,000 Californians both directly and indirectly.

In announcing their endorsement, CaliforniaHealth+Advocates Board Chair Leslie McGowan stated “We know that Mike Eng understands the unique needs of vulnerable patient populations and the critical role community health centers play in neighborhoods across California. We are also confident that Mike will carry that knowledge to the Legislature and be a champion for healthier communities, health centers and the patients they serve” McGowan concluded.

“CaliforniaHealth+Advocates and the community health clinics they represent are critical providers of healthcare services to our most vulnerable communities including many in the 22nd Senate District.” said Eng, “I am proud to have their endorsement and I look forward to working with them to continue improving our health care system.”

Mike’s campaign for State Senate had a resounding 20-point margin and placed first on June 5th 2018 primary election, with over 45% of the vote. Mike Eng previously served in the State Assembly, on the L.A. Community College District Board of Trustees, and on the Monterey Park City Council.
