Supreme Court declines to block Texas abortion law
| A sharply divided Supreme Court on Wednesday night let stand a divisive Texas law that bans abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy and effectively outlaws the procedure in most cases.
Just before midnight, the court issued a 5-4 ruling that denied an emergency request from abortion providers to block the law, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the court’s three liberal justices in dissent. |
