STATEMENT REGARDING JOE BUSCAINO AND MIKE FEUER DROPPING OUT OF THE MAYORAL RACE AND RIGGED CITY ELECTIONS

Los Angeles City elections are rigged against the voters and rigged in favor of career politicians and members of the billionaire club.

Two candidates for Los Angeles mayor who recently dropped out of the race before Election Day were allowed on every single debate stage and forums – while others certified candidates, including myself, were excluded.

The establishment’s so-called major candidates, Joe Buscaino and Mike Feuer, didn’t have the strength of character to stick it out when times became tough. Their departures say a lot about how warped L.A.’s election system is.

The establishment would have voters believe that Caruso and Bass are their only choices. Voters know better. That’s why, with less than three weeks before the election, 30% or more of voters are still undecided.

Shame on the League of Women Voters, Pat Brown Institute of Public Affairs, radio, and TV networks and even newspapers who arbitrarily and capriciously decide who the voters should hear from. And shame on KCRW, the public radio station which has barred me from participating in this evening’s debate.

I have been a community advocate who lives and has been ingrained in the San Fernando Valley, which is the home of 40% of L.A. voters. I was trusted by mayors Bradley, Riordan and Villariagosa and L.A. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich when they needed to get the job done. I believe that the voters are tired of corruption, high housing costs, out of control homelessness and neighborhoods that are not safe.

L.A. voters vote smart, want good paying jobs and will vote for change. I believe Mayor Mel Wilson represents that change.
