EMILY’S LIST PRESIDENT LAPHONZA BUTLER ENDORSES COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY HORVATH FOR SUPERVISOR

President of the Nation’s Largest Resource for Pro-Choice Women in Politics Endorses Horvath for Board of Supervisors

LOS ANGELES, CA – Support for Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath’s Supervisorial campaign continues to grow as Laphonza Butler, President of EMILY’s List, the national organization that supports and empowers Democratic pro-choice women, personally endorsed Horvath for LA County Supervisor Board for District 3.

“In this very uncertain time, we need pro-choice leaders like Lindsey Horvath to protect abortion rights and drive progressive change at the local level,” said EMILY’S List President Laphonza Butler. “I look forward to working with her to make LA County an equitable safe-haven for all.”

Before serving as the President of EMILY’s List, Butler was the President of SEIU Local 2015, California’s biggest union and the nation’s largest homecare workers union. At SEIU Local 2015, Butler led the effort to address pay inequity for women in California and was a top advocate in the fight to raise the state’s minimum wage. She was also a senior advisor to Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in California.

“I am proud to have the support of a leader who knows how to deliver real results for the people of LA County,” said Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath. “Laphonza Butler is a force for good in California, and now nationwide. She has fought tirelessly for the people – especially women of color – who have been on our frontlines providing care to our most vulnerable populations. Having the endorsement of a woman who has courageously and successfully fought for caregivers, homecare workers, women, and our reproductive freedom is an incredible honor, and our campaign is stronger with her support.”
