Solis Champions $1 Million Investment to Improve San Gabriel Valley Aquatic Center
Los Angeles, CA (January 14, 2025) – The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, at Chair Pro Tem Hilda L. Solis’ request, has approved a $1 million budget update for the San Gabriel Valley Aquatic Center, ensuring the facility’s continued enhancement and expansion of services for local families. This funding will support critical infrastructure improvements and broaden recreational programming, directly benefiting residents in the San Gabriel Valley.
“This $1 million investment is an important step in enhancing the San Gabriel Valley Aquatic Center, providing families with greater access to quality recreational opportunities,” said Chair Pro Tem Solis. “The expanded programming and infrastructure improvements will not only support physical fitness and water safety but will also help build stronger, healthier communities in the San Gabriel Valley.”
The $1 million appropriation update is a vital step toward maintaining the center as a premier community resource. It will allow for significant upgrades to the facility’s infrastructure, including pool systems, locker rooms, and public spaces, as well as an expansion of the center’s offerings, providing more opportunities for families, seniors, and individuals of all ages to stay active, learn valuable water safety skills, and engage in healthy activities.
This funding update ensures that the San Gabriel Valley Aquatic Center can continue to provide affordable, inclusive programs, including swimming lessons, aquatic fitness classes, and water safety training for children and adults. By strengthening the center’s capacity to serve the community, the County is furthering its commitment to improving quality of life and promoting well-being for families across the region.
The San Gabriel Valley Aquatic Center is expected to open Summer 2025.
