SUPERVISOR HORVATH HONORS UCLA WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS TEAM FOR CONTINUED NATIONAL EXCELLENCE

LOS ANGELES, CA April 28, 2026 Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath presented a scroll honoring the UCLA Bruins Women’s Gymnastics program in recognition of its continued national excellence and its impact on student-athletes and community pride across Los Angeles County.

“UCLA Women’s Gymnastics represents the very best of Los Angeles County—discipline, teamwork, and excellence,” said Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath. “Their achievements this season and their commitment to one another reflect not only athletic success, but the values that inspire young people across our communities. We are incredibly proud to have UCLA in the Third District and to celebrate the student-athletes who represent our communities with excellence.”

The UCLA Bruins Women’s Gymnastics team, a seven-time NCAA championship program, remains among the nation’s elite. During the 2026 season, the team posted a 33–4 record, secured back-to-back Big Ten regular season and conference titles, and advanced to the NCAA Championships, finishing third in the semifinal round.

The season was highlighted by standout individual and team achievements, including Jordan Chiles capturing the NCAA title on floor exercise and the team earning top national scores, including a 198.150 performance. Under the leadership of Head Coach Janelle McDonald, the program continues to excel both athletically and academically.

“We are honored and grateful to be recognized by the LA County Board of Supervisors for our team’s achievements this year,” said Coach Janelle McDonald. “Our student-athletes work extremely hard to proudly represent this university and our beautiful city both in the classroom and across the country on the competition floor! The board recognizing their efforts reminds our young women of the positive reach and impact they can make on our community through their hard work and achievements.”
