FlixBus and Greyhound

FlixBus and Greyhound are ready to support increased intercity travel demand across Southern California as Los Angeles prepares to welcome fans from around the world during the tournament. The network will continue connecting travelers from cities including San Diego, Bakersfield, Las Vegas and beyond into key regional hubs such as Union Station, Long Beach Downtown Transit Gallery and Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, helping visitors and residents seamlessly access LA Metro services to reach matches and events across the region. As demand for affordable and flexible transportation continues to grow, intercity bus service plays an important role in reducing congestion, easing parking demand around venues, and expanding access to mobility during large-scale events.

Metrolink

Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail system, expands transit options beyond Los Angeles County, allowing fútbol fans to avoid gridlock and pricey matchday parking. Metrolink riders enjoy free connections to LA Metro at Union Station and OC Bus at the Anaheim Station in Orange County, making it easy to reach the stadium, fan festivals and watch parties. Enhanced Metrolink service will accommodate post-event travel out of Downtown Los Angeles, following all eight local matches and official FIFA Fan Zone dates at LA Union Station from June 25-28. Additional fan events accessible directly via Metrolink or via free, short connections on Metro include LA Memorial Coliseum from June 11-15; the Pomona Fairplex on July 14, 15, 18 and 19; and Downtown Burbank from July 18-19. Pacific Surfliner

Pacific Surfliner makes it easy to travel to Los Angeles without the stress of driving to the matches during World Cup. On select match days, additional late-night service and adjusted departures will help fans return home after the game, including extended service to destinations such as San Diego, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. Special Fan Zone service on July 18–19 will also include additional stops at Burbank Downtown for easier access to events and activities.

“Transit is the best, most affordable and most convenient way to get to all the World Cup festivities around LA County,” said Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins. “Together with 13 other transit agencies, our longer distance carrier partners and rideshare partner, Metro will provide a world-class transit experience so fans can get the most out of the World Cup.”

Metro Micro and Uber

Metro added two temporary Metro Micro Zones, providing a $10 discount for the first 2,500 trips per match day on Uber rides booked in the greater Hollywood and East LA areas to and from the Crenshaw/Expo E Line Station and Union Station.  To receive the discount, riders must book their ride as a micro transit trip through the Metro Micro app – the $10 discount is applied automatically to the fare at the time of booking. To board Metro’s enhanced bus service to Los Angeles Stadium, riders will open the Past Trips screen in the Metro Micro app and show their completed Uber trip as proof of travel. At the Crenshaw/Expo station Metro staff will provide access to the station once riders show their completed trip receipt in the app.

Discounted trips can only be booked between the Hollywood zone and the Crenshaw/Expo K Line station and East LA zone and Union Station on the eight match days. The service provided by Uber allows for free two-hour transfer to the K Line at Crenshaw/Expo station and the World Cup enhanced bus service going to and from the game for everyone in the party. Standard Metro fare policy rules apply. Visit metro.net/micro for additional information.
